Bye Bye November Pretty Pink Boxes

November My Pretty Pink Boxes sold out in two hours this morning!!

What the hell, people...I was asleep! lol Grrr...I was up 'til 5:30 a.m. so I was knocked out between 7 and 9 a.m., when you early bird bastards were buying up all the boxes! I had no idea they'd sell out so quickly...or I would have just stayed up another hour and a half. Oh well...saves me money this month. =)

Sooooo who got a November Pretty Pink Box? Don't worry, I won't shoot you...I'm just curious. ;)

Yesterday's Oprah Show featured Dr. Oz and his new book, You Being Beautiful, which just came out this month and is about how beauty and health are related. Of course I love all things beauty, want to be/stay healthy, and I love reading so what better than picking up a copy of this? It already has positive customer reviews on Amazon.
Here's a short excerpt from Publishers Weekly editorial review on Amazon:
From hair to toenails, Dr. Roizen and Dr. Oz go through every part of your body to explain how different foods, vitamins, creams, gels, and injections can really boost your looks. They scrutinize the beauty myths that bombard us every day and offer an unbiased perspective on which ones cause more harm than good. You will be able to revamp your beauty regimen (or start a new one from scratch). They'll also take a close look at chronic pain, mood swings, low energy, and financial stresses. And they'll dive into the science of building relationships, finding happiness, and using spirituality to help you define your own levels of true beauty.

By the way, for those who didn't watch the show, this is really a book about being healthy and beautiful at the same time. It's not a book about what eye shadow colors you should wear or tips on makeup application. However, there are tips for picking out beauty products that are beneficial to your needs—for example, which antioxidants do what, what you should look for on the label, what foods boost which beauty benefits. It could save you a lot of money in the long run because you won't be buying well-marketed products that actually don't or won't benefit you!

I will probably pick up a copy of this book in December, once I'm done with my December grad school apps, so I'll definitely review it then!

Happy Thursday, everyone! November is just flying by...

  3. You are freakin' funny... the beginning of this post brought out the mad giggles accompanying the honks after each laugh XD.

Yeah, Dr. Oz had a few Discovery Health channel exclusives a few months back. He's walking proof. The man is a good product of what he preaches. Oz brings a smile on my face w/his animated expressions hehe. oxox
