Visee Jewel Crush Eyes and MAC F&F 25% Sale!

Starting the new year off with a new makeup love is just lovely, isn't it? This past weekend I had the chance to try the Visee Jewel Crush Eyes palette in E-5 that I'd gotten in my swap with Yume-chan.

I never used a review format before but I'm going to try, starting now!

Review at a Glance (out of 5 ♥s):
Product: ♥♥♥♥♥
Quality: ♥♥♥♥♥
Packaging: ♥♥♥♥
Price: ♥♥♥♥
Overall: ♥♥♥♥♥!

(Wot? You can count ♥s, can't you? That's my faux British accent by the way.)

Price is 2,415 yen (including tax) which is $25.70 USD. (Thank you, iGoogle Currency Converter widget for making conversions fast and easy for me.)

Pros:
♥ It's pretty all the way...from the packaging (like a jeweled mirror case) to the colors in the pan to the colors when applied!
♥ Shimmery but subtle, and blends lovely.
♥ The colors go so well together, it's really goof proof. Also I don't have any eyeshadows in colors similar to these (except for the pale pink and vanilla, but they're not shimmery).
♥ Very compact so it doesn't take up much space in my makeup case and it'd be easy for me to carry around.

Cons:
♥ Hmm I pictured it being bigger, maybe because of the MAC holiday eyeshadow palette I'd just bought last month. This is about the height of a MAC quad but slimmer in width. Not a big deal though because I have more makeup than I can possibly use all up before I want to buy more makeup. But American/western standard-wise, I think the palette is small for the price. (Visee is a drugstore subbrand of KOSE though and on the higher end of drugstore brands, so it's comparable to brands like Flirt and MAC or Estee Lauder or NP at Target.)
♥ Packaging didn't get 5 ♥s because I noticed after touching it, I left fingerprints on it. Will have to make it a habit to wipe off my fingerprints (or use something else to grab it).

My Thoughts:
I think I just might fall in love with this palette! (It's a bit too soon to tell since I've only used it once so far and in a rush.) Yume-chan listed this as one of her favorite beauty products of 2008 and I decided I wanted it in our swap from seeing her review about it. I'm so glad I did! I think the colors of this palette are very pretty and shimmery, but not in an overwhelming way. It doesn't give me a smokey eyes or clubbing/partying/nightlife/I-AM-SMOLDERING-TEMPTRESS look, it gives a subtle but noticeably pretty look. It's the perfect palette for when you want a wearable day time look but something a little more special than your go-to neutrals/brown eyeshadow palette (and obviously less subtle than say greens/blues/purples).

I don't like repeating information that you can find out about a product through a website or its packaging, so my reviews are my opinions only and I'll just leave links in case you are interested in learning more about a product. =)

I was pressed for time so I didn't get a good pic...will have to do a redo for a proper look! Also this is pretty basic face with just MAC MSF in Petticoat and NARS lipgloss in Orgasm because I wanted to see how the MAC MSF Natural in Medium Plus looked directly on my skin without foundation, in case it was too light and I should try Medium Deep.
