Use

The Lens Village website has a detailed section for proper use. Please familiarize yourself with it before buying and wearing circle lenses. Obviously it is important to take good care of your eyes, especially when it comes to using circle lenses. At the very least, I recommend checking with your optometrist/optician if you can wear contact lenses, getting eye exams annually, and making sure you know how to properly handle and care for your circle lens (including soaking them in solution for at least six hours before you first wear them).

My Thoughts

These are my first green circle lenses. My first choice was Princess Mimi but I decided to take a chance and try a different brand and design since I have already have two pairs of those (just not in green).

Admittedly, my first thought when I tried these on was, "Wow, this looks really fake." It looks a bit weird with my bare face, but after I put on eye makeup, the look grew on me. Up close, it does look flat and two dimensional, but once I step back from the mirror, I really like the way it looks. The green doesn't look too bright from afar and they really make my eyes look bigger and pop. The color looks more natural and blends in if not in obvious, bright lighting. The obvious lesson/tip: don't let people stare too closely!

I can't decide if I love or hate the design, because I don't like how flat it looks up close. However, I do like the color a lot, which looks really bright but blends in (from afar). I am curious if the design would look less flat had I tried it in brown or grey since my eyes are naturally very dark brown. I love how these make my eyes look much bigger! The enlargement is definitely there, and I think the effect looks even bigger than 14.8mm.

The comfort level is average, for me at least. Unfortunately I have astigmatism so I found it a bit difficult to see details clearly with this pair of circle lens and could not wear it for longer than 4 hours, simply because I need to see when on my computer or driving (I've noticed this varies for me depending on the particular circle lens).

I couldn't resist buying this blonde wig from Daiso. It was only $6 so I figured I wouldn't lose much if I don't like it. What do you think? I've never tried dying my hair blonde or even tried any other blonde wigs before.

Makeup used

  • Make Up For Ever HD Elixir
  • Etude House Precious Mineral Bright Fit BB Cream
  • Urban Decay Naked Palette 2 - Booty Call, Suspect, YDK, Snakebit and Tease (eyebrows)
  • Etude House Bling Bling Stick in Shooting Star
  • Physicians Formula Eye Booster™ 2-in-1 Lash Boosting Eyeliner + Serum
  • Make Up For Ever Aqua Eyes Mat Black 0L
  • Fairy Drops Volume Burst Water Proof Mascara
  • Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blush in Peach Satin
  • Canmake Candy Wrap Lipgloss in 02 Navel Drop
  • MAC Mineralize SkinFinish Natural in Medium Plus
  • Daiso False Eyelashes (Cute Rabbit)

I felt both relieved and a little bit bald after taking off the wig, keke.

Then I felt boring with just my natural black hair. By the way, this is how my hair looks naturally, a bit wavy and frizzy.

What do you think? Have you tried any green circle lens before?

  1. Loving your eye make up and the lens are quite bright, I thought it might not be as visible because I've tried the Geo Angel Green before and the colour didn't show as much. You look so cute in the last pic with blonde hair! ^^

  2. I love your doll-eye makeup look! I have never tried green contacts (I attempted to wear contacts but it was a failure). Your pink eyeshadow pairs up so well with the green!

  3. I don't really like the blonde wig on you, it makes you "too" fake if one can say that :D I guess you might look great with a lighter brown shade or maybe even a darker blonde shade, I dunno... but I liked the lenses way better with your natural hair than that wig. I also have a cheap blonde wig, I guess we all like to try out those things ^-^ And you should get the Bambi Apple Green, I have + love them! :D I am surprised this lens doesn't look too fake from a bit away because they look soooo bold on the close-up! It's nice you get the opportunity to review lenses :)

  4. You look good in green - they make look alienish hehe..

I prefer you with your natural hair :P But I think it's a fun look with blonde!

I've worn green colourblends and I really did not go well with them!

  5. Aw thanks, Aimee! The blonde wig is fun, hehe. I wouldn't mind getting more blonde wigs in the future! I really wasn't sure how vivid the color would look because it looks lighter on the model in the ad. Still, I do like how it looks but just not up close, hehe. Ahhh I've been wondering if I should try a pair of Geo Angel circle lens!! Maybe next time. =)

  6. Thank you! The circle len effect is so big, definitely needs doll-eye makeup to complement it, hehe. Aww what happened with your attempt to wear contacts? Ahh the eyeshadows are actually neutral colors, hehe, but just my camera and skin undertone makes it look pinkish. When I wear pink eyeshadows, it doesn't look like I'm wearing anything, lol.

  7. Lol ah yeah, I know what you mean. For $6 I kind of figured it would look fake but I still had fun playing with it. Ahh I'll definitely try the Princess Mimi Apple Green in the future! =)

  8. Aww thanks! I can't imagine green not looking good on you, especially with your translucent skin! Do you prefer another bright color, like blue or violet? I keep seeing those but can't tell if I would like them or not. Aww Colourblends are quite popular, aren't they? I'm sorry you didn't like them in green though.

  10. Aw thanks Kay! I think green/hazel eyes are pretty too! Just never tried wearing those colors in contact lenses before, keke.

  12. They do make your eyes look bigger but I can see what you mean about it making your eyes look flat up close. Perhaps, like you suggested, a different colour would help eliminate that problem :)

  13. lolz at your face wearing the blond wig! ;D you look prettier with darker hair but i don't think it's half bad!
i only discovered green lenses recently and surprisingly enjoy them which is surprising for me. i thought green would look horrible on me.
love the vibrant green color. you look very fresh wearing them!

  14. Ahh it's tough choosing an unnatural color online but hoping that it will look "natural," lol. I hope eventually I'll find the perfect green circle lens!

  15. Lol the thing about $6 wigs, it's a bit hard fixing the bangs, hehe, they're so choppy looking at the ends. Aw and thank you! It's nice to try circle lens in fun colors like green. I hope I'll get to try the more vibrant colors like you do, and that they won't look too horrible on me! :)
