The sky was very cloudy and totally overcast, but somehow when we got to the fair, it was very hot! Though it doesn't look it in this pic.
I go to the fair to eat mostly the treats I don't normally eat throughout the year (*ahem* not including the OC Fair), like all the deep fried goodness at Chicken Charlie's.
Lunch consisted of deep fried White Castle cheeseburger, deep fried avocados and garlic fries...damn I love garlic fries!
After lunch, we walked around a bit, ate some roasted corn (not pictured), found the booth with deep fried Snickers (not pictured...basically looks like a corndog but trust me, you don't want to see how the melted chocolate with random nuttiness inside looked, haha) and then followed up with jumbo funnel cake with whipped cream and strawberries.
Yes...food is one of those simple pleasures in life that I just can't get enough of! =)
And of course...can't go to the fair and not take a picture of the Ferris Wheel.
With the cloudy and sunny weather and hot day/cold night, I couldn't help but acknowledge that summer really has ended and fall is here. Yes, the OC Fair is a summer staple, and the L.A. County Fair is fall, and when you go on the very last day and know that you won't be at the fair again until next year...well, you accept it, hold onto every memory and make sure to stride forward so that you can enjoy it all once again the next time around. =)
