My apologies for not being able to post this sooner, as I really liked this (last) month's box! I really hope that September's box will match the standard shown in the the August Glossybox.
A quick breakdown for anyone who (still) doesn't know about Glossybox: Glossybox is a monthly subscription beauty box of 5 travel-sized beauty products for $21 per month (including shipping). You can also sign up for a 6-month or 12-month subscription to save $11 or $32. Glossybox also offers ways to earn Glossydots that are redeemable for a free Glossybox. Glossybox is available in over 15 countries with different themes and products for each country.
Each box comes with a Glossy Mag with beauty tips, trends, interviews, etc. The theme of the August Glossy Mag was The Neon Issue. The magazine seemed to have improved hugely from previous months with more content and less ads in this issue. There is also an online magazine on their website.
I never check the website beforehand so I'm always truly surprised when I open the box and find out what the month's theme and products are, hehe.
This month's theme was *drumroll* Pure Luxury!! Oh yes, my kind of theme.
On the back of the card, there is a short list of all the products including description and full retail prices.
Here's all of the glorious products!
MATRIX BIOLAGE ExquisiteOil Replenishing Treatment. This treatment is a versatile serum infused with a Moringa Oil Blend. This ultimate potion gives instant shine and weightless replenishment to all hair types.
This salon professional brand is actually a favorite of my sister's so I look forward to trying it out. I appreciate that this product is suitable for all hair types too.
ELLIS FAAS Ellis Lips. The lightweight and long-lasting lip products comes in three fabulous textures; creamy lips for a matte finish, milky lips for a gloss finish and glazed lips for a touch of color. They are paraben-free, loaded with vitamin E and blend into the lips leaving them soft and conditioned.
This is a full-size product and it is huge! Bigger than my writing pens, hehe. The retail price is $35. Oh my! This product alone already makes the $21 Glossybox a huge deal.
ILLAMASQUA Nail Varnish. Award-winning, extremely hardwearing and chip-resistant, there's an Illamasqua Nail Varnish for every shade of humanity. Apply two coats for extra intensity. Make a statement and talk with your hands!
Illamasqua! I love my Illamasqua powder blush "Lover" and am happy to see this brand make an appearance in my box. This is also full size and worth $14. Nice! (I'd never pay that much for a nail polish, hehe, at least not for myself, so it's definitely a treat for me.)
OLE HENRIKSEN Truth Serum. This high powered vitamin C complex helps smooth out lines and wrinkles, fights environmental aggressors and keeps your skin moisturized, nourished and protected. Apply mornings and evenings.
Ole Henriksen! I have heard nothing but good things about this brand but have always shied away from purchasing any since it's a bit too much on the expensive side for my taste. However I'm stoked to now be able to try one of their skincare products and I love that this is an anti-aging suitable for all skin types. Score!
TOUCH IN SOL Feel Like Honey Moon Skin Base. Apply this fantastic primer after your skincare routine and before your makeup. Its honey texture firms and revitalizes the skin and allows for a better makeup application.
I'm not familiar with this brand but it made in Korea, so of course, I'm totally interested in trying it. This tube is actually only 0.06 fl oz less than the full size, which costs $20. And wow, this product has flecks of gold in it! Talk about luxurious!
Overall, August was a really great box. Beauty boxes can sometimes be hit-or-miss because it's hard to accommodate everyone's tastes and needs, but I think this box really did a great job in offering items that should be suitable for almost everyone.
I'm looking forward to seeing what'll be in September's box!
I hope everyone has a wonderful Labor Day holiday tomorrow!!
I have heard good things about the serum from Ole Henriksen :) You will have to update when you have used it!

looks well worth it! That's always been my gripe with beauty subscriptions, often you just end up with a bunch of random subpar samples.
ReplyDeleteWow, this glossybox looks pretty good! I've seen reviews on youtube for this one!

This glossy box looks fabulous.... I'm sad to say that I was so disappointed with my one in Japan that I cancelled it. I prefer more makeup but glossy box in JP seems v skincare driven - I'm not v adventurous with skincare since I've got sensitive skin. But good for you! That Ellis Faas product alone makes this box v worth it.
ReplyDeletethe truth serum is a nice product, but a little sticky from what I remember when I tried it
ReplyDeleteDefinitely! Will do. =)
ReplyDeleteHehe thanks! Oh you didn't get Ellis Faas milky lips? Which one did you get instead?
ReplyDeleteYeah unfortunately my box always comes near the end of the month. =( I am stalking the site though to see what will be in September's box. You should too just in case! *fingers crossed*
ReplyDeleteThanks! =)
ReplyDeleteThanks! I feel the same way too. =)
ReplyDeleteI agree! I wish they would let us know ahead of time what will be in the box.
ReplyDeleteI think it can be good sometimes and other times not so good. I'm hoping it will keep being good and getting better too!
ReplyDeleteAh sorry to hear that. It would be awesome if they had an option of boxes, like a makeup box and a skincare box each month!
ReplyDeleteOh really? Eek, I'll make sure to keep that in mind and not use it on a hot day/night.
ReplyDeletei've been contemplating on getting glossy box! i'm still with birchbox but might have to do a switchover soon :)
ReplyDeleteyou've got yourself an amazing deal with August's month glossy box!! everything looks great!
