Hey guys! Sorry I've been a bit MIA, I have been melting in the heat but I'm back and I have lots of new hauls and reviews to share with you! First I'd like to start with this July Glossybox! This month's theme was Summer Nights.
After a sizzling day in the sun, there is nothing better than a cool summer night. This month’s GLOSSYBOX offers you the essentials you’ll need to indulge in products that show off your sun kissed skin and hair and enhance sultry eyes. Afterwards, throw on your sexy sandals and dance the night away under the shimmering summer sky. Here's what I received in my July box. If you click on the link, you can also see what other products may be found in other Glossyboxes.
Each month's box comes with a simple Glossy Mag of beauty trends, news, and wellness-related articles. You can also check out the Glossybox Magazine online for even more articles.
I always feel that moment of suspense before I actually open my box.
And here's everything that was inside my July Glossybox!
Sebastian Professional Color Ignite Multi Tone Shampoo. Smart color moisture complex that targets your color-treated strands, to deeply moisturize and restructure hair fibers wherever needed most.
Sebastian Professional Color Ignite Multi Tone Conditioner. This micro-bubble conditioner whips, wraps and wows your strands leaving your hair with long-lasting color and vibrant shine.
These bottles are 50ml (1.7 fl oz) and 47g (1.67 oz), which are really nice sizes to use for trial or travel. The only thing though is that my hair is not actually colored so I may end up giving these away or keeping them until I do color my hair again (which I don't plan to do anytime soon).
Alessandro International Pedix Heel Rescue Balm. This foot cream oil imported exclusively from Germany provides intensive protection and nourishes skin, leaving it soft and supple.
Eek! A good foot cream is a girl's must have in the summer to keep her feet moisturized and looking nice while wearing sandals and peep toe wedges all season long.
Figs & Rouge Lip, Face & Body Balm. This gorgeous tin is filled with a 100% pure and natural skin balm, a multi-use wonder product that will keep your skin feeling soft and beautiful throughout the day.
This balm seems the most interesting and promising item of July's box for me. Since the weather's really been heating up lately, my skin definitely feels more dry so I can't wait to try this on my lips and possibly around my hands' cuticles too.
Senna Cosmetics Mineral Eyes Shadow Trio. This silky pressed mineral eye shadow trio in metallic or matte colors gives you a hypnotic yet polished finish with amazing dimension.
The trio I received is called Medallion and the shadows are described as "metallic gold and khaki with matte fudge brown." This isn't really a color scheme I'd pick for myself because I have a feeling they won't look flattering on my skin tone, but I can see why it might be popular for others during the summer.
Ruddy Water Blushed Fragrance. A special surprise treat...features notes of bright red currant and rich vanilla, wrapped around subtle sweet lemon, slightly spicy ginger, and kissed with a hint of sugar. Take, tuck or share this fragranced towelette. Its scent will make you blush.
Overall, I really like the size of everything, but I wasn't really excited with the products. I've said it before and now I really do think that perhaps I'm just too picky for these types of surprise/mystery boxes. They're great for people who want to experiment with different and new beauty/skin care/hair care brands and products, but for me, I have way, way too many beauty/skin care/hair care products lined up and waiting on standby to be used and loved by me. (Just think, you have yet to see about half of my stash at all times since my posts are paced out and I don't always show everything right away.)
Personally, I think I would be much happier with this July Glossybox if it could have been more customized, such as if I had been able to choose which of the available items I would receive. For example, I'd rather try the Senna Cosmetics Double Dipped Lip Lacquer (and would choose it in pink and peach) instead of the eye shadow trio, and I'd choose the Caswell-Massey Almond and Aloe Hand & Body Emulsion, and if possible choose the shampoo and conditioner in either a moisturizing formula or not at all.
Of course, that's not how it works but I'm just throwing my two cents out there. What do you think? Do you purchases these types of beauty boxes?
By the way...I really am overwhelmed at the moment with the amount of new products I have just waiting to be used and reviewed! With the exception of things like body scrubs, face wash, and shampoos and conditioners, I'm pretty sure I don't need anything for the rest of the year! However, that doesn't stop me from wanting to try new products and discover new favorites. I'm excited and will be posting lots of new things here soon. =)
Have a great weekend, everyone!!
I like the July box. It's well thought of but the lipbalm... ughhh, no pots please! Why can't all lipbalms come in hygienic tubes/sticks? And SPF would be nice
ReplyDeletefor a summer lipbalm yes?
It looks really good and the lip balm design looks cute.
ReplyDeleteI personally would like to choose out beauty products myself rather
than having it come as a surprise. ^^'
I can't wait for your reviews! You do a great job at them. :)
Lol aw I totally agree! A balm stick with SPF would be awesome for summer! I like the way you think. =)
ReplyDeleteAw thanks Huong! I'm glad I could be of help with reviews. I usually check out a lot of reviews myself before actually buying something, hehe.
ReplyDeleteAhh they sell Fig and Rouge in our local drugstores over in the UK ^^ I quite like it myself. The box is looking pretty good there! I still haven't given in to beauty box subscriptions yet though LOL. Btw do you have plans to relocate...?
