Hi everyone! Wow, a whole month has flown by since my last post. I truly apologize that I haven't had time to post as often as I'd like. Please understand and I will try to post whenever I can, although it will probably be very infrequent compared to before.
This past month, Etude House had a 30% off winter sale! Korean brands like Etude House have their own mini shops on Gmarket (search for 에뛰드하우스★직영샵). I try to check Gmarket's beauty calendar at the beginning of every month to see which brands are having sales. Another thing I do is follow Facebook pages for Korean beauty brands like Etude House, because if the brand is having a sale in Korea, often it will also have the same sale on Gmarket! Shopping the sales can be a great way to accommodate the shipping costs, especially for the U.S.
Here is my beautiful haul! It looks small but took a lot of thought and will power to only buy what was "necessary," keke.

SkinFood Haul
Hi everyone! I have missed you all so much! Where did the last three weeks go?! They just flew by, without leaving me a moment to blog. Aside from my makeup artistry class, I also started a new side job which has been taking up most of my free time. I'm really sorry I just disappeared but I simply didn't have the time. Please forgive me? I will try to make time for blogging. *fingers crossed*
Moving on...as you may already know, SkinFood is one of the most popular affordable skin care brands in Korea. Aside from being very affordable (as in drugstore prices; each item below cost less than $20 USD), they have really cute packaging for all their many skin care lines, the most popular of which is probably the Peach Sake line. I have tried some of their products, which have varied between hit-or-miss for me, but I just couldn't resist the attractive pricing and packaging while I was in Korea.
Without further ado, I present to you my SkinFood haul!

Hey everyone! Happy October!
Here is the latest GLOSSYBOX beauty box subscription for the US. Yes, I know it is last month's box but as some of you may know by now, the boxes come at the end of the month, and if any month you should decide to subscribe, you actually subscribe to the next month's box and not the current. I hope that makes sense! (So what I mean is, even though today is October 1st, if you decided to subscribe now then you'd actually be signing up for November's box.)

Eyes, Lips, Face - Massive ELF Haul
Whether you love or hate e.l.f. products, there's no denying that they are super affordable. Since I'm taking a makeup artistry class, I wanted to have a separate set of brushes and makeup kit to use on others. Of course, I could use the brushes I already have since diligent sanitation is always required, but I have my reasons and like having separate sets.
Tammy was kind enough to let me know there was a 50% off discount code not advertised on the website and I went click happy! e.l.f. products are already really affordable with most of the items I wanted, but slashing half off was awesome. I haven't tried a lot of e.l.f. products but with the sale, it was hard to resist since if I didn't like a product, the average price I'd spent on it was only $1.50 or $3!

Review: SkinFood Facial Water Vita-B and Vita-C Series
After finishing my Innisfree Green Tea face cream, I switched to this SkinFood Facial Water Vita-C Face Cream that I had used before and wanted to finish before trying a new moisturizer. Since I hadn't reviewed it before, or the Vita-B Face Cream, I thought I'd combine them into one blog post.

Zoya "Cassi" and "Mieko" Nail Polishes
Zoya was having a promotion a while ago (a long, long while ago) where they were giving away two free nail polishes for the price of shipping (and a very long wait! I waited about a month). I'd set these polishes aside and forgotten all about them until recently.

Gmarket Korean Beauty Haul
I recently decided to satisfy my lust for new Korean skin care and beauty products with a massive Gmarket haul. (Okay, maybe not massive, but the bill was not a small one.) Although shipping from Korea to the U.S. can be a bit pricey, Gmarket does offer sales on certain beauty brands that you can check at their monthly beauty calendar.

Belated Birthday Gift and New Toy
Yes, yes, my birthday was over a month ago but I decided to get myself a late birthday gift. I like to treat myself since so far, no one will ever love me like I love me, haha, and I'd rather spoil myself instead of waiting around expecting someone else to do it. =P So after much debate, I gave in and got myself my first DSLR, the Canon EOS Rebel T4i (with 18-135mm EF-S IS STM Lens). Yay!!

Hey everyone! Today I'm reviewing one of my purchases from Korea, a best seller from Korea's first natural cosmetics brand Innisfree, The Green Tea Seed Serum. I was very excited to try Innisfree products since they are nature-based and the green tea ingredient is 100% organic and from Jeju Island.

Summer Brights: Nails
One of the many things I love about summer is being able to wear fun, uber bright nail polish. This summer I especially love wearing turquoises, aquas, teals, and somewhat minty blue-green colors. The pop of color just makes me feel happy.

My Birthday
Not to be vain (says the girl who posts tons of selcas on her blog), but I just wanted to post a quickie since today was my birthday. Big hugs and kisses to
everyone for wishing me a happy birthday!!
I have to say Monday birthdays are lame and this year my birthday was quite tame, especially compared to last year (last year was crazy fun, keke, too much fun) or any other birthday where alcohol was involved. I'm leaving tomorrow to Las Vegas for the rest of the week though. It's a family trip so I don't expect to get crazy but I do look forward to shopping, lounging, and hopefully beating the heat. I'll be back next week to post birthday hauls and what not. I was going to post a review today but I've scheduled it for later this week since I won't be able to blog while in Vegas (hehe, blog while in Vegas).
I honestly don't feel much older or more accomplished than I did in these pictures below (although I do wish for that baby soft skin and uber shiny hair).

N Seoul Tower on Namsan Mountain
Ahh we've come at last to the final post about my trip to Seoul! (Not counting hauls, keke.) This is a continuation of my very long day from my last post. Even though I didn't get to visit a hanok village in Seoul, I did get to see a few traditional houses simply by walking around Jongno.

Changdeokgung Palace in Seoul
Hul~...I'm nearing the end of my Seoul trip posts. I did a lot on my last Sunday there so I've broken it into separate posts. This is a continuation of my day after visiting all of those K-pop entertainment headquarters. I met up with a friend in Jongno or "Bell Street." I liked this area of Seoul because it's rather traditional looking, with small, quaint streets and has a lot of traditional architecture as well as Buchon Hanok Village 북촌한옥마을 (traditional Korean houses). I was a little disappointed I didn't get to visit Buchon (too much time spent visiting K-pop headquarters) but I did visit Changdeokgung Palace 창덕궁.
First stop though was food! Of course I'd been in the mood for KBBQ, especially Samgyupsal 삼겹살, which is basically thick slices of Korean pork belly (like bacon).

Review: Etude House Darling Cream (Snail Healing)
I'd heard that snail products were the latest rage in Korean skin care products so of course, I had to pick up at least one item to try while I was in Korea! In general, snail mucin is supposed to be beneficial for skin due to its anti-aging and acne-reducing properties. Naturally I was both curious and eager to see if it would actually work for me. Most Korean skin care brands carry at least one snail mucin product so there are many options to choose from. I decided to try the Etude House Darling Cream (Snail Healing).

SM, JYP, Cube and YG Buildings in Seoul
While in Seoul, I was able to check out the locations of SM, JYP, Cube, and YG Entertainment headquarters. I didn't actually go inside (I don't think that's possible unless there's an audition going on) but just visited briefly, like a tourist + fangirl, and took pictures outside, keke.
I'd found directions online, but for some reason can't find them right now. It's just as well as the directions were a little faulty. However you can look up their addresses and map out your route should you ever decide to visit. I do remember that SM was a short subway ride away from JYP, which is literally about a small block away from Cube (like a 1-2 minute walk), and then YG is totally out of the way (in Mapo while the rest are in Gangnam), about another 30-40 minute ride on the subway.

Nanta Show and Cherry Blossoms in Hongdae
After having so much fun catching Key's "Catch Me If You Can" musical, I decided to see another show while I was in Seoul. This time I made my way to to the Hongdae Nanta Theater. Nanta is a very popular South Korean musical that has a simple plot and is basically an entertaining performance using cooking instruments like cutting boards and knives to create the rhythms and music. It's mostly non-verbal and is supposedly comparable to Blue Man Group.

It's that time again...you know, when you (or at least I) browse through the catalogue of sexy, curvy yet slim Victoria's Secret models with their stellar abs. *sigh* Oops but I digress...I meant to say, lookie at the swimsuits I got from the Victoria's Secret sale! Korean Musical, Kpop and Random Hauls in Seoul
While I was in Seoul, I got to watch the Korean production of the Broadway musical, "Catch Me If You Can" ("?? ? ?? ? ?"), starring Key from SHINee. *squeals* Okay okay, admittedly Key's not one of my favorites from my favorite group, but it was still cool that I could watch him perform live. Basically, see him in person and hear him sing live!
The musical took place at Blue Square, Samsung Card Hall, in Hannam-dong, Seoul.

San Francisco Weekend Trip
Earlier this month I'd visited San Francisco to hang out with some friends, including May, Cat, D, and I also got to meet Lulu. I'd already been to SF a few times within the past year, so all I really wanted to do was just hang out, and of course, eat. I must warn you that this post is extremely picture heavy, especially with pictures of food! You might not want to read this if your stomach's empty, keke.
I stayed in downtown at the Marriott Marquis, which is a very convenient location. Just a quick walk away from Sephora, H&M, and Sephora! However, I didn't do any shopping this time. I got lucky and received a free upgrade to a corner room on the 30th floor. I love city views so I was very happy.
Here's the view from my window. SF was having a warm and sunny weekend while I was there.

Happy Friday!! Here are the six lovely lippies I got from Etude House while I was in Seoul. Might I refresh your memory of my love for SHINee? It boggles my mind how much Etude House must make from SHINee crazed fangirls (and...fanboys, keke)..obviously, myself included. XD

Sinchon and Edae (Ewha Woman's University)
To me, the coolest places to hang out around Seoul are near the universities. This might sound odd if you are past your college years, but these districts are young, vibrant, and fashionable with a down-to-earth vibe. My kind of atmosphere.
There are several university neighborhoods but I started with Sinchon or Sinchon-dong 신촌동 and Edae 이대 (short for Ewha Woman's University 이화여자대학교). They are very close to each other, just one subway stop away, and Sinchon is also a subway stop away from Hongdae (short for Hongik University 홍익대학교, sort of like how we say So Cal for Southern California; if you don't know, Koreans love to shorten terms to make one word), but I'll talk about Hongdae in another post. Sinchon is also very close to Yonsei University, Sogang University and Myongji University.
Edae is very quaint, cute, trendy and most importantly, affordable! That's to be expected, since it's near a women's university. You don't have to worry about getting ripped off here if you're immediately pinpointed as a tourist. Sales people are also not pushy, and I felt I didn't stand out so much since in this area, since I could easily pass for a student or professor (in other words, foreigner doesn't necessarily equal tourist, as it does in tourist hot spots like Myeongdong). I didn't walk around the campus but I certainly did take a walk down "fashion street."

Bongeunsa Temple and Cherry Blossoms in Yeouido
I meet up with friends and we visited Bongeunsa 봉근사, a Buddist temple in Gangnam 강남 and across from COEX Mall. A little back history: It was built in 794, reconstructed in 1498, mostly destroyed by fire in 1939 and then later in the Korean War in the early 1950s. Now it has been mostly restored and is a large tourist destination spot.
For someone who's not even Buddhist I took tons of pictures. Perhaps I was just overly eager to share and also it was a beautiful day. It finally felt like spring!

Without further ado, I present to you...the beautiful unveiling of my Etude House haul from Myeongdong. Please be forewarned that this post is extremely picture heavy and also filled with lots of pink.
Ahhh the glory...
Their latest hot item for spring is the Dear My Blooming Lips-Talk lipstick. Long story short, I ended up with two gift sets, enticed by the SHINee notebooks they came with.

Innisfree Haul from Myeongdong
Here is my first skincare haul from Myeongdong, Seoul! I have more but think it would be too much for one post, keke. Innisfree is a natural Korean skincare brand. I had heard of the brand before but never tried any of their products, nor was I previously aware that it was a natural brand so of course I was intrigued and wanted to try their products.
I promise it had nothing to do with Lee Minho (of Boys Over Flowers kdrama fame) being the Innisfree poster boy. (Sadly, I did not see any Innisfree posters of him or else I would have asked for one, keke! All I saw were Yoona promos.)

Myeongdong, Korean Beauty Shopping Mecca
Myeongdong 명동 is a must if you want to shop, especially for Korean skin care and cosmetics! I loved it so much, I went there several times during my trip, kekeke (and I still didn't get to go into every store!).
It is very touristy so there's usually a sea of people. The only time I saw it clearing out was at 10pm, closing time. Its being such a popular tourist destination means you will see and hear a lot of foreigners and in some shops (but not all) the sales assistants speak English, Japanese, and Chinese. (Truthfully I'd only encountered two who spoke fluent English; a sales girl in Nature Republic and in Etude House.) Koreans spoke to me in everything...I found it a bit interesting that they had no clue what ethnicity I am. In my mind, I'd thought Asians could distinguish other Asians, especially if they live in Asia, but apparently that wasn't the case, at least in my experience. They seemed to just randomly guess any Asian ethnicity including Thai, Japanese, Filipino and Chinese. (I was very surprised when one asked me if I was Vietnamese!)
Anyways, on with the pics!
I liked to enter from the Myeongdong exit on the subway near Migliore, a Korean department store.
Kpop idols are much loved in Seoul and you can find their ads and endorsements plastered everywhere and anywhere, but I'll have to do a separate post on that. Here's a huge 4minute endorsement for Shoemarker. (I like 4minute a lot, by the way; that is I like listening to their songs but don't know who's who aside from Hyuna.)

I did the touristy thing and visited Gwanghwamun 광화문 Square and Gyeongbokgung Palace 경복궁 in downtown Seoul. We started by walking from Cheonggyecheon 청계천 stream. This is a very popular spot so you may have seen it in Korean dramas (such as Iris!).

Korea Trip: Settling into Seoul
Yes, finally! My Korea trip post...the first of many, hehe. I'd been wanting to go to Seoul for the past two years and this spring, I decided to just go and make it happen! (Sometimes I am impulsive like that.) Waiting and trying to plan it with people, and match our schedules and budgets...well that obviously didn't get me anywhere over the past two years so I went ahead and traveled on my own for the first time to a foreign country. The cons of traveling alone are rather obvious, I'm sure, even down to minute matters like having someone to take your picture or take a picture with you, but overall I'm very glad I did it because it was a great life experience for me. I definitely learned a lot.
Getting there was a bit of an ordeal. I boarded my plane and was all ready to go, when the captain announced there was a mechanical problem and we had to wait for an engineer to fix it. Waiting, waiting...then the new announcement was that we had to de-plane and quickly head down the terminal to use another plane. Thennn we had the wait at the new gate for another hour...two hours...first because they were prepping the plane, then because they needed to find a new crew due to labor union laws of work hours...they gave us meal vouchers for lunch...and after I had lunch, I saw everyone standing in a longggg line...to rebook! *exasperated sigh* SO I stood in line for another hour or two, and luckily I was able to take the evening flight through Korean Air instead, but I had to wait a few more hours than that. I'm not kidding when I say I spent over 12 hours at LAX, ugh! I got another meal voucher, had cake and coffee for dinner, haha, and because of the delay, I missed my first night in Korea (waste of hotel fare, *sigh*).
Nevertheless I was quite happy to land in Incheon the next morning and headed to my hotel in Yeoksam-dong 역삼동, which is one train stop or a short walk to Gangnam 강남. After showering and resting, I met up with a high school friend who lives in Korea. We walked around Gangnam a bit and then had kbbq in Sinsa-dong 신사동. Of course, Korean barbeque in Korea is a must!

GLOSSYBOX USA April Premiere
Disclaimer: This product was provided to me for the purposes of review. I am not affiliated with the company or brands, nor was I paid for this review. My review is honest and completely my own opinion.
Like many other bloggers, I'd received the premiere US GLOSSYBOX earlier this month. GLOSSYBOX offers a monthly subscription of 5 travel-sized beauty products. I'd seen some of their boxes on blogs and YouTube from girls who received them in other countries, so I was interested in trying a box myself. However, I've read many say that this box is not a true representation since it contains full-sized products in celebration of its US premiere, and future boxes will contain travel-sized products.
The packaging is really nice and you can tell a lot of thought went into presentation.

Japanese Kit Kats and Narita Airport Pics
Okay, here's really the last of my Tokyo trip pics. ^_^
It was a bit rainy before I left. Not heavy storms but just a light drizzle. It seems a bit odd at first to see so many people using their umbrellas but after walking around a bit, I realized you have to or else eventually you do start to get very wet and your clothes will start to soak too. What I like about Tokyo (and Seoul too) is that so many people walk in the rain and so you always see a parade of colorful umbrellas (in the U.S./LA/SoCal, people like me are always driving and black is the preferred umbrella color, haha).

Randomly Roaming in Tokyo
Here are the last of my photos from my short Tokyo trip. I'm sorry I couldn't post sooner but better late than never, right? Actually, wait, I still have pics from the airport, but you can do without those, right? keke If not, I'll post them next time when I announce the Natural Radiance giveaway winner!
This was my simple hotel room. Is this what a college dorm single looks like? Wouldn't know since I didn't dorm. This is actually probably smaller, haha. It was very small but I'd expected that so I wasn't surprised. These kinds of rooms really are made for small people though. When I stood in the tiny bathroom, I could touch the ceiling with my hands and I'm only 5'1.5" (155 cm.)!

Japanese Drugstore Beauty Hauls
Is this what you've been waiting for? ;) I was going to post more random Tokyo pics but decided to give you the unveiling of my haul instead. So...without further ado, here it is! *applause*
Not everything I bought is for myself, some are gifts and also for my giveaway winners. However I just thought you might like to feel the joy of my hauls, lol. It's probably not as amazing as what you'd dream of hauling yourself. I think what i hauled most was hair care! My hair had been rather dry before leaving (but quickly turning oily on hot days) so I really wanted to start using hair oils etc. in attempt to revitalize my hair to be healthy and shiny again. (Me = Leo, therefore my hair is my crown and shining glory...or it should be! *smiles* )

Play Time in Tokyo
Hiyee everyone!! I've decided I have so much to post from my trip and since NicNic posted recently about our meet up, I shall start from the end to the beginning! (Her sense of time makes more sense than mine, but just enjoy it anyway, will you?)
Me in my hotel room, feeling all refreshed and ready to go out and about! Yes, my hair got very long since I'd wanted to cut it but a friend told me to get it done for cheap in Korea and I did not find any convenient hair salons where I felt comfortable enough to take the risk (not all salons are cheap, some are expensive, and not all speak English obviously and I am rather picky about my bangs).

Hiyee everyone~!! I'm home sweet home again, and am adjusting back to my "real" life. *cries* ㅠㅠ
I've unpacked and have slept tons (and lost weight! woohoo), but am still sorting through my hauls and taking pics of everything.
In the meantime, here are some pics from my Instagram.
